Two Articles in the Vienna Connection 11/20/07:
In "Town Keeps Gangs Away" Police Chief Carlisle says, "I think there is some gang activity in Vienna, but it is not related to criminal events."

In the second article, Vienna's Gang Officer Det. Sheeran says, "You might see a group of young men, all wearing the same color shirt, maybe bandanas. And someone may think, ‘a gang.’ You look more closely and you realize it’s a soccer team." Mayor Seeman continues to say, "I believe we’re pretty much on top of this." (VCG Editor's Note: Please see the crimes listed here. We're pretty sure they weren't committed by soccer teams.)

Vienna Police Crime Report 10/27/07:
Location: Cedar Lane Shopping center, 200 block Cedar Ln., S.E.
Details: Malicious wounding on 10/27/07 - A man reported being approached outside the shopping center by two men, one of whom cut his hand with a knife. The victim fled to a nearby business from where the police were called. The suspect with the knife is described as a hispanic male, 5'10" tall, 170 lbs., medium length hair, no facial hair. The other suspect is described as a hispanic male, wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt.
